Our client, a leading civil engineering and construction company in Leeds, is recruiting for a Bid Writer who can write with flair and in a persuasive manner, to join a busy bid proposals team.
The construction industry is exciting and buoyant. This company has been established for many years, and they deliver design and build civils projects for a range of clients in the water, utilities and infrastructure sector. The company work on lots of projects for different clients who need a civil engineering contractor partner, and are continuing to grow and diversify further.

This is an exciting, varied and vital role, working as part of a team in supporting the business to win new work. You will take time to absorb and understand the client's requirements, and then develop, write, edit and proofread high quality documents that include construction methods, health and safety procedures and case studies of previous projects.
Writing with pace, accuracy, including key phrases, key words, keeping a consistent tone and win themes is important. In this role you get to know the business well and work with key contacts who will provide access to up-to-date, accurate company information needed for the bid submission. All your hard work will be stored in a bid library.
Educated to degree standard
Previous experience of writing about technical subjects with the ability to learn about a new subject and write persuasively about it
IT skills – Word, Excel, experience with graphics not essential but an interest and desire to learn how to use is desirable
Time management is key, being able to manage multiple tasks and working at pace
Confidence to build relationships with key contacts in the business
A background in some form of construction or civil engineering would be desirable but not essential
Depending on extent of experience, a guide salary could be anywhere from £30,000 to £50,000 per annum.
