A highly attractive opportunity for a commercial astute Development Manager to join a privately-owned housebuilder with bespoke developments across Yorkshire.
With 30+ years' house building experience, this award-winning family-owned developer is known for producing 5* bespoke properties, and build anywhere from 40 to 100 properties per year.
Leading on the development of sites once land has been identified. Responsible for the appraisal of sites, and using commercial acumen to propose the development or sale of the land. Dealing with land acquisition agreements and solicitors, preparing and managing budgets for sites, liaising with all parties involved including architects, surveyors, housing associations, planning, legal, ensuring all the correct paperwork is in place to build. Commercially overseeing the delivery of projects managing a small QS/Estimating team.
A solid educational background with construction degree or accreditation such as MRICS.
Sound commercial acumen with entrepreneurial flair
Negotiation skills – negotiating terms of offers and contracts, with solicitors and end users
Previous experience of managing the process of purchasing land
