A superb, highly visible opportunity within a well-established building and civil engineering group of companies as Operations Manager (Building and Social Housing) for its Yorkshire region, to support the Regional Director in delivering a projected £40 million regional turnover next year, and further growth and success beyond, targeting £60 million turnover for 2019.

Operating within the building and civil engineering sectors, this £250 million+ turnover organisation provides a full range of services to the construction industry across the North and Scotland through its several businesses.

The Operations Manager is a role newly created in line with business growth, and will report directly to and support the Regional Director of Yorkshire and will be a figure who gains the trust and respect of the senior team (contracts managers, pre construction manager and commercial manager), with full engagement with them, and a focus on team work in approach to work winning, contract progress, site programmes, delivery and client relationship management.

Immediate responsibility will be held for operational delivery through two contracts managers for site teams across Yorkshire for a minimum of ten projects at any time across a variety of building and new build social housing schemes.

It is imperative that this Operations Manager is someone highly skilled and motivated, with the ability to fit within a lean, hardworking environment, together with a positive and practical management style and the confidence to take ownership and hold accountability for all aspects of the construction process is imperative.

The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge of a range of building construction project and contract types, and will be experienced in managing multiple schemes. Proven experience is likely to come from within a large regional or national contractor setting.  In addition, the successful candidate will be someone who possesses a high level of commitment, determination and patience combined with proven leadership skills and previous experience of supporting a Director/senior management team in driving a business forward.

£65,000 – £75,000 per annum. A company car or allowance will also be provided, in addition to private medical cover and employer pension contribution.
