Job
The Senior Commercial Manager will lead and manage the locally based Quantity Surveying team, responsible for providing main contracting Civil Engineering solutions across a variety of sectors.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Facilitate good working relationships with  supply chain partners and customers
Surveying team leadership, responsibility, development and support, recruitment and retention
Monthly  P&L/Forecast reporting to Regional Commercial Director
Contract Documentation review
Risk and Opportunity mitigation/maximisation plan, implementation, guidance and success monitoring.
Subcontract procurement – planning, targets, procedure, documentation, sign off and post contract management
Programme/progress monitoring – delay/disruption and loss/expense identification, reporting and notification
Monthly CVR, forecast and subcontract liability production

Experience Required
The ideal Candidate will be will be able to demonstrate a consistent career and will have considerable experience in the Commercial Management of Civil Engineering projects with a particular emphasis on main contracting schemes.
Proven leadership of a Quantity Surveying team, and applications from experienced Managing Quantity Surveyors who are looking to advance their careers into a more strategic management role are welcomed.
Technical ability should include an understanding of contractual law, commercial reporting, tender procedures, commercial awareness, leadership skills, presentation skills and report writing.
Good knowledge of suppliers and subcontractors in the Yorkshire market is highly beneficial
Experience using the various forms of NEC and JCT forms of Contract, both for main contracting and setting up of sub contracts.
Experience of Microsoft IT packages

Remuneration
Negotiable depending on experience, plus company vehicle or allowance, generous pension and bonus.
