Project Manager

A position is available for a Project Manager to oversee small to medium environmental works across the North East and Yorkshire. The role focuses on the safe and efficient delivery of projects within and adjacent to watercourses, ensuring compliance with environmental constraints and operational protocols.

A respected civil engineering contractor specialising in environmental improvement schemes, minor civils, habitat works, watercourse maintenance, and small-scale flood resilience projects. The organisation is recognised for delivering sensitive works in challenging natural environments.

Role
Manage multiple small environmental and civils projects from planning to completion.
Coordinate site teams and subcontractors to deliver works efficiently and safely.
Ensure all activities within and near watercourses follow relevant environmental protocols and regulatory requirements.
Monitor programme, costs, risks, and quality, implementing corrective measures where needed.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders, statutory bodies, and landowners.
Contribute to method statements, permits, and project planning documentation.

Experience Required
Experience in environmental works within watercourses or immediately adjacent to them, with strong awareness of associated environmental constraints and protocols.
Background in managing small-scale civil engineering or environmental projects.
Good understanding of CDM regulations, site safety, and NEC contract procedures.
Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, environmental management, or construction (HNC/HND/Degree).
SMSTS, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence.
