Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established plastering and dry lining company.

One of the largest drylining and partitioning contractors in the North East are looking for an assistant QS to join their team working with major housebuilders.

The Role
As part of their long-term succession plan, the ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be eager to develop their commercial and technical expertise and grow into a key leadership role within the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain hands-on experience within a specialist subcontracting environment. You will work closely with senior management, gaining in-depth knowledge of drylining and plastering packages, with the long-term aim of progressing to take control of the commercial function of the business. The role is suited to someone who wants more than just a job, a future commercial leader who is keen to learn, take responsibility, and grow with the company.

Job
Assisting with the preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
Supporting the valuation of works, applications for payment, and final accounts
Assisting with procurement of materials and subcontractors
Assisting with variation pricing and change control
Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and clients
Supporting senior management with commercial decision-making

Experience Required
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
At least one year within the housebuilding environment.
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, reliable, and professional attitude
