Clerk of Works

I am seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to support a programme of social housing refurbishment works on a temporary 3-month contract. The role will involve site-based inspections to ensure works are delivered to the required quality, specification, and compliance standards.

You will act as the eyes and ears on site, working closely with contractors, project managers, and housing teams to ensure high-quality outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities
Carry out regular site inspections across occupied and void social housing properties
Monitor refurbishment works to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and relevant regulations
Identify defects, poor workmanship, and non-compliance, and ensure timely corrective action
Maintain accurate site records, reports, and photographic evidence
Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues
Support health & safety compliance on site
Ensure works are delivered with minimal disruption to residents

Requirements
Proven experience as a Clerk of Works or similar site inspection role
Strong background in social housing refurbishment / planned works
Good knowledge of building regulations, construction standards, and health & safety
Strong communication and report-writing skills
IT literate
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
