Head of Land and Planning

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially astute Head of Land and Planning to play a key strategic role in the acquisition and delivery of development sites across the North East. This position is suited to someone with a strong track record in identifying and unlocking land opportunities, managing the planning process, and leveraging industry relationships to bring forward viable developments.

The Company
A dynamic and growing property developer undertaking a mix of residential and non-residential schemes. The business is focused on quality, long-term growth, and unlocking value through smart land acquisition and planning strategy.

The Role
Identify and assess potential land opportunities for residential and mixed-use development.
Carry out site appraisals and feasibility studies, considering planning, technical and commercial constraints.
Lead land acquisition negotiations through to completion.
Manage and coordinate planning applications and promote sites through the planning process.
Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, local authorities, and consultants.
Provide strategic input into the development pipeline and growth plans.

Experience Required
Strong background in land acquisition and planning.
Proven ability to identify and secure land opportunities off-market and via agent networks.
Sound knowledge of the planning system and local authority processes.
Commercially aware with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Existing network of industry contacts in the North East desirable.
