Water Industry – Career Change Opportunity

Company
Civil engineering Contractor which has a long standing relationship with Northumbrian Water Group and provides its services to deliver various projects throughout this water network in the region.

Fostering a culture for working well together across disciplines and teams is a core value of this company. Importance is placed on listening to shared ideas, cooperative working, and fostering integration of teams, which builds a sense of belonging and being part of a united team with shared goals for success.

The company has a loyal and longstanding regional leadership team. They know the client well, have a strong grasp of the relationship and its history, and can provide excellent support to staff developing within the regional delivery team. Opportunities for progression at both a regional and national level exist for staff who are ambitious and are looking for a career path.

Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for direction change within a construction career. This role has responsibility for creating the programme of works for projects with involvement from conception to completion. This will entail working closely with the project manager, visiting the project to identify the full life cycle of the scheme to include potential operational hurdles, health and safety risks, and stakeholder issues and communication needs. Further to this, basic design work will be completed using CAD and subsequent programmes in Microsoft Project.

This is primarily an office based role, working hours 8am to 4.30pm.

Experience Required
This position would suit an engineer or assistant project manager who is looking to change to a more flexible, office based role which utilises a good amount of technical engineering knowledge.

To be successful in this post it is important to demonstrate some experience of working within the construction industry, ideally civil engineering.  Having the confidence to speak to a wide range of people ranging from project teams to project stakeholders, as well as client representatives, is an imperative quality, as is the ability to absorb the right information from the senior team members who are providing the technical input in relation to project challenges and practicalities.

Applicants should have completed a degree in a subject such as construction project management, civil engineering or geography.

Remuneration
Negotiable base salary (up to a maximum of £40,000) plus car allowance. For more information, please contact Bridget Yates.

This is a permanent position and Corepeople Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment agency for permanent recruitment on behalf of our client.
