Procurement Assistant
Procurement Assistant required to join an established team within a busy construction business in South Tyneside. This is a full-time permanent role.
The Role
You will support the team with various tasks including the processing of material requisitions, raising and issuing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers as well as office and site-based colleagues. Additionally, you will be tasked with monitoring and maintaining existing pricing agreements, processing and resolving supplier invoice queries and general administrative duties connected to the procurement function.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30AM to 5.00PM and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm based on a 39 hour week (30minutes lunch break). Salary range: £25,000 to £27,00 per annum and a discretionary annual bonus. Pension: Standard workplace pension scheme. Holidays: 25 days per annum + statutory bank holidays + birthday off.
The Person
This is a busy all-round role, and applicants must have excellent communication skills, flexibility and well-honed problem-solving skills. They will be a strong team player with an organised and methodical approach to their work and able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their existing skill set, striving for continuous improvement with existing procedures and systems.
Experience of working within a Procurement / Finance / Commercial Department is preferred but not essential. Strong IT skills with a sound understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential, coupled with well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Experience of the construction sector, in particular Eque2 software and M & E Engineering is preferred but again, not essential.
Remuneration
£25,000 to £27,000 per annum.
