Site Manager

An experienced Site Manager is required for a freelance position for a housing infrastructure scheme.

The Company
An established groundworks subcontractor dealing in groundworks, plot works, roads and sewers.

The Role
The Site Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of site-based operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. Responsibilities include:

Overseeing day-to-day site activity, including management of labour and subcontractors
Planning and coordinating materials, plant, and logistics
Enforcing health & safety compliance across all site activities
Liaising with engineers, commercial teams, and clients
Maintaining site records and producing method statements and risk assessments
Reporting progress and resolving any on-site issues promptly

Experience Required
Previous experience as a Site Manager or General Foreman in the civil engineering sector.
Strong working knowledge of infrastructure works including drainage, road construction groundworks, and plotworks.
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site staff.
Must be able to use a laptop.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence.
