Trainee Assistant Buyer

Assistant Buyer required for a new, permanent role in the Houghton le Spring area. 

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Buyer, the Assistant Buyer will support with the procurement of all directly purchased materials and hired equipment, including taking off and scheduling materials from working drawings where required.  They will place orders for bulk materials and deal with site generated requisitions.  Additionally, the successful applicant will liaise with suppliers to ensure best value is achieved and prepare lots of  reports for group and the region, such as site damage, plant use and site waste.

The Person
Applicants will have strong IT skills, the ability to work well under pressure, a keen eye for detail, strong communication and listening skills and ideally some experience of working in construction or building supplies

Remuneration
£30,000 to £33,000 per annum.
