Corepeople appointed to recruit for Coast Road Improvement work

Corepeople has been appointed to coordinate external recruitment for the £40 million A19/ A1058 Coast Road Junction improvement project delivered by John Sisk and Son and Lagan Construction, which represents around a quarter of the professional workforce for the scheme. We will also be supplying temporary trades staff to the project.

The Coast Road work is being carried out by the two contractors as a joint venture – Sisk Lagan JV – and is part of a £15 billion investment by the government for improving roads over the next six years. The developments to the Coast Road are significant given thousands of drivers currently use that junction every day and the A19 provides vital access to the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, Silverlink Retail Park, Cobalt Business Park and South East Northumberland.

Ian Storer, Executive Director of Corepeople, commented “This project requires us to fill a broad spectrum of technical construction vacancies, providing us with an excellent platform to showcase our knowledge of the northern civil engineering market and the skilled people within it, and our capability to deliver the right people, quickly into high profile schemes. We are thrilled to be working with Sisk Lagan JV and look forward to a continued relationship.”

With work due to start in June 2016, the improvements will help to provide better infrastructure to the local economy by supporting local businesses and creating more jobs – not least of all those that Corepeople will be recruiting for. The work is scheduled to end mid-2018.
