Given recent successes, our client is looking to expand and recruit an enthusiastic, competent and experienced Civils Estimator to work on a range of civils projects between Liverpool and towards London. 

With a turnover of £80 million and a workforce of over 400, this leading civils main contractor offers expertise in a range of sectors including general civils groundworks and infrastructure improvements, from £50k to £5 mil. Projects offer plenty of variety including site enabling, earthworks, ground remediation, drainage, foundations, retaining walls, concrete and steel structures, walkways, high specification concrete floors, hard landscaping, new roads and roundabouts, junction reconfiguration, traffic calming, services installation/ diversions and car parks.

The Role
Provide a comprehensive estimating service controlling either an assigned project or a portfolio of projects. 
Price a variety of building work packages for private and public sector clients. In depth understanding of SBCC, NEC, JCT and ICE contracts, including design and build. Working across a wide spectrum of sectors such as retail, commercial, industrial. Identify potential risks from initial analysing of project documentation. Prepare tender estimates from first principles using Conquest or Excel, drawing on previous experience and knowledge of techniques, outputs, sub-contractor quotations and material prices unique to each tender. 
Maintain a thorough understanding of construction techniques, outputs and the relationship between the costs from these and the market values and how this is utilised in tendering. 
Carry-out necessary site visits that are required for tendering opportunities. 
Production of a fully detailed tender programme on which the tender costs are based utilising CSP project. 
Proactively lead and take part in discussions and negotiations with suppliers and sub-contractors during the tender process. 
Lead and take part in pre-tender discussions / sign off with senior colleagues. 
Lead and take part in discussions with Client’s designated personnel, planners & design teams in pre/post-tender meetings, negotiations and correspondence. 
Lead and take part in handover meetings with internal contract staff and commercial colleagues to ensure all elements of the tender process and procedures are handed over. 
Deploy an innovative approach to tendering and deliver winning tenders that will provide a solid foundation for operational and commercial colleagues to use as a platform to deliver a successful project. 
High level of PC literacy with working knowledge of Conquest Series Q, Microsoft Excel, Word & Project software 

Experience Required
Previous experience as an Estimator pricing civils projects, dealing with 10-15 jobs per month
Working knowledge of Conquest, MS Excel, Word and MS Project
Driver's licence. There will be some travel with the role given the company's ongoing success generating business towards Birmingham and West of London.
