An opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering contracts manager to join an established regional contractor in a newly created, key role, in line with their growth and pipeline of work, to oversee projects as the company works as an internal subcontractor, a main civils contractor and as a subcontractor to other main contractors.

This is regarded as a key role within the company as they continue to increase their presence in the market place, and is a role for an individual with most likely a minimum of twenty years of experience in the industry, proven as a strong manager of teams, delivery and relationships.
As the company has secured its position on frameworks and is converting tender opportunities, there is a requirement for a Contracts Manager to enable them to continue to manage their existing workload as well as they continue to take on an increasing workload of high profile work.
Reporting to the Construction Director, and with an established delivery team to manage, the Contracts Manager will be someone with strength of presence on site, managing delivery with a positive management style; a technically minded manager with the ability to look at programmes, dissect drawings, run queries, manage labour and plant allocation and Health, Safety and Quality responsibility across four to five sites at any time..
For an application to be considered, candidates must be able to demonstrate a considerable amount of experience at management level within a civil engineering environment. That said, for this role, whilst an engineering bias would be attractive, it is not essential. Experience of working with reinforced concrete, highways, drainage, roadworks and public realm is required. Additionally, groundworks and infrastructure preparation experience for commercial and industrial buildings is desirable, as is experience of managing the construction of steel frame buildings.
