Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in the North East of England. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the cost control, commercial aspects, and subcontractor relationships on residential projects. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all commercial aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Manage and develop long-standing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, compile and present valuations
Monitor project costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Provide commercial support to the project team, including contract administration and procurement.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and resolve any commercial issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the quantity surveying team.
Qualifications and Experience
A suitable construction qualification such as HNC, HND or degree
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential construction sector is advantageous.
Ability to control costs for all subcontract trades
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors.
Proficiency in using industry-standard quantity surveying software such as COINS.
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
